On Tuesday, 6 June 2023, at 4 p.m., the Italian candidacy for Einstein Telescope will be presented during an event at the headquarters of the INAF National Institute for Astrophysics (via del Parco Mellini 84).

Einstein Telescope will be the future major research infrastructure for the detection of gravitational waves, a project of international scientific and technological impact.

The speakers at the event are the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni; the Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani; the Minister of Universities and Research, Anna Maria Bernini; the Minister of Labour and Social Policies, Marina Elvira Calderone; and the Undersecretary of State to the Prime Minister, Alfredo Mantovano.

The presentation will also be attended by: Giorgio Parisi, Nobel Laureate in Physics and chairman of the Scientific and Technical Committee for the Italian Candidature for Einstein Telescope; Ettore Sequi, Ambassador and Head of the Italian delegation to the Board of Governmental Representatives of Einstein Telescope; and Antonio Zoccoli, President of the INFN National Institute for Nuclear Physics, the institute coordinating the national scientific community for the Einstein Telescope project. The President of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, Christian Solinas, will be present. Sardinia is the region chosen to host the Einstein Telescope, in the area of the disused Sos Enattos mine.
