On the afternoon of Tuesday, October 29th, delegations composed of ministerial representatives from the G7 members (Italy, France, Germany, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Japan and European Union) and representatives from scientific institutions and large international research infrastructures will visit the Sos Enattos site, a candidate to host the Einstein Telescope. The visit will take place within the context of the event “G7 Conference on Large Research Infrastructures. Synergies and impact on science and society”, scheduled for October 29th and 30th at the Hotel Su Gologone in Oliena (NU), co-organized by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR) and the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) as part of the Italian G7 Presidency events calendar.
The delegations will visit both the underground infrastructures, inside the former mine, and the SAR-GRAV laboratory on the surface, including the Archimedes fundamental physics experiment. A guided tour of the Sos Enattos mining museum is also planned. Before the visit, in the early afternoon of Tuesday, October 29th, a session of the G7 conference will be dedicated to the presentation of Italy’s candidacy for the Einstein Telescope.
