On Wednesday, December 11, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, at the Sala Teatro of the NH Hotel Carlina in Turin, a meeting titled “Einstein Telescope – an Italian-led proposal in an international context” will be held to present the characteristics of the Einstein Telescope (ET) project and the potential economic impacts for local businesses.
During the event, Michele Punturo, the international coordinator of the ET scientific collaboration, will present the status of the Italian candidacy to host the future gravitational wave observatory, highlighting opportunities for Italian industry related to upcoming procurement procedures. Following that, Angelo Rivetti, senior technologist at the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) – Turin section, will provide an update on the Institute’s activities and present procurement opportunities in the electronics and mechanical sectors. Finally, Stefano Bagnasco, head of the computing center at the INFN Turin section, will explore the technological aspects of the project, with a focus on the challenges related to the computing model for ET.
This initiative, organized by the Centro estero internazionalizzazione Piemonte, in collaboration with INFN and Einstein Telescope Italy, is part of the Tender Project, managed by Ceipiemonte and funded by the Turin Chamber of Commerce, the Cuneo Chamber of Commerce, and the Monte Rosa Laghi Alto Piemonte Chamber of Commerce.
