On Thursday 11 and Friday 12 September, the Einstein Telescope (ET) project will take center stage in three events taking place in Rome, Gavoi (NU) and Camogli (GE).
To celebrate its sixteenth anniversary, Il Fatto Quotidiano returns to Rome with a new edition of its annual festival entitled “Andiamo al Massimo”. The event, running for six days in the iconic setting of the Circus Maximus, will also host a meeting dedicated to ET. The discussion, scheduled for Thursday at 4:30 pm at the Poste Italiane Meeting Area, will feature Fernando Ferroni (Einstein Telescope Organization), Francesco Sylos Labini (E. Fermi Research Center) and Raffaele Marras (Sardinia Region). The session will be moderated by Miriam Mirolla and is organized in collaboration with the Scuola del Fatto Quotidiano.
On Friday 12 September at 6:00 pm, the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Gavoi (Piazza S. Croce, 1) will host a public meeting to learn more about the ET project. The event is part of “Einstein Telescope meets the territory”, a series of meetings with residents of the municipalities surrounding the Sos Enattos area, and is promoted by the Municipality of Gavoi with the participation of the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) and the Autonomous Region of Sardinia. The initiative aims to foster direct dialogue between experts and citizens, illustrating the benefits that the Einstein Telescope would bring to the region and addressing concerns about its impact. Speakers include Domenico D’Urso, scientific coordinator of ET Italy, and Maurizio Boi, administrator of the Leonardo Consortium.
Later on Friday, at 9:30 pm, ET will also take center stage at the Festival of Communication in Camogli. On the Terrazza di Miramare, the conference-performance “From Sardinia to the discovery of the cosmos: the Einstein Telescope project for the study of gravitational waves” will feature a talk by Marco Pallavicini (INFN Vice President and Professor at the University of Genoa) with an introduction by Alessio Caminata (INFN Genoa).
