The coastal city of Opatija, in Croatia, will host this year’s fourth annual meeting of the Einstein Telescope collaboration. The event, which brings together the international scientific community, will be an opportunity to discuss the las updates and the key aspects of designing the future gravitational wave observatory.
Organised by the University of Rijeka, the meeting will take place from Tuesday 11 to Friday 14 November in the Drago Gervais multifunctional hall. The programme includes technical workshops, scientific sessions, and discussions on the next steps of the project. There are also slots dedicated to geological characterisation studies of the area around the former Sos Enattos mine, together with updates on the other candidate sites. Particular attention will be given to the recent formalisation of Saxony’s (Germany) candidacy and to the question of the experiment’s configuration, which could be implemented either as a single triangular detector or as two L-shaped observatories located at two different sites.
