Today, 17 December, at INAF – the Astronomical Observatory of Cagliari, the preview presentation of the planetarium documentary “Einstein Telescope: listening to the Universe beyond the stars” took place.

The event was held in the presence of the President of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, Alessandra Todde, some local mayors, and the directors of the research institutions involved, highlighting the strong shared commitment to promoting scientific research and innovation in the region. The initiative is part of the support for the Italian candidacy to host the Einstein Telescope, one of the most ambitious scientific infrastructure projects at the international level, coordinated in Italy by the National Institute for Nuclear Physics.

“Einstein Telescope: listening to the Universe beyond the stars” takes audiences on a journey to discover gravitational waves, which have ushered in a new era of astronomy. Through an immersive storytelling, the documentary explores the potential of the future European gravitational wave detector, designed to listen to the faintest vibrations of space-time, traveling through the history of the universe, even beyond the birth of stars.

The documentary, produced by Sardegna Ricerche in collaboration with the National Institute for Nuclear Physics, the European Gravitational Observatory, and the National Institute for Astrophysics, was created by VIS – Virtual Immersion in Science and Telesardegna.
