The series of events “Einstein Telescope Meets the Residents” is back, dedicated to the communities of the municipalities surrounding the Sos Enattos area, which is a candidate to host the Einstein Telescope (ET), the future European gravitational-wave observatory.

The next stop will be Oniferi (NU), with a meeting scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at the Council Chamber in Via Fratelli Cambosu 1. It will be another opportunity to learn more about ET and explore the project’s goals through direct dialogue with researchers, while also looking at the potential benefits and impact this infrastructure could have on the territory.

Following opening remarks by Oniferi Mayor Antonello Piras, speakers will include Andrea Contu (INFN researcher and head of ET Sardegna), Gaetano Schillaci (engineer at the INFN National Laboratories of the South), Raffaele Marras (the Region’s consultant on the Einstein Telescope) and, remotely, Domenico Di Mauro (INGV researcher). The meeting will be moderated by Chiara Mogoro (Unitel Sardegna).
