On Thursday, 2 July, at Manifattura Tabacchi in Cagliari, Sardegna Ricerche organized an event for Sardinian companies interested in applying for the call “Aiuti per piani di innovazione delle MPMI nelle KET della S3 regionale”, which offers innovation opportunities within the framework of the Einstein Telescope (ET) project.

The call, promoted by Sardegna Ricerche and funded with €4 million under the Sardinia ERDF Regional Programme 2021–2027, opened on 25 March and will remain open until 31 December 2027. Its objective is to integrate local micro, small and medium-sized enterprises into the Einstein Telescope supply chain. Sardinia is a candidate to host the research infrastructure in the area surrounding the former Sos Enattos mine, in the Nuoro region. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to develop enabling components and technologies with strong potential for commercialization in the global high-tech market.

The event in Cagliari, organized in collaboration with the Italian National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), gave participating companies the opportunity to learn more about the objectives of the call, eligibility requirements, application procedures, and the broader regional support framework for innovation. Part of the programme focused on the scientific, technological, and industrial opportunities associated with the Einstein Telescope, as well as potential collaborations between industry and the research community. The day concluded with a series of one-to-one meetings between companies, researchers, and INFN experts, focusing on key technological areas and the development of potential project ideas.
