How can we design and use technology for the common good? This is the central question of Biennale Tecnologia, the first international initiative organized by the Politecnico di Torino and entirely dedicated to the relationship between technology, humans, and society. The fifth edition of the event, titled “Solutions,” looks at the major changes of our time: environmental, energy-related, social, cultural, and digital. With the aim of analyzing their critical issues and identifying concrete responses, the Biennale seeks to explore the relationship between technology and society, attempting to imagine new possible worlds.

The event, which will take place on Thursday, April 16 from 12:00 to 13:00 in Aula 3 at the Politecnico di Torino, will also feature the Einstein Telescope (ET), the future European observatory for gravitational wave research, which could be built in Sardinia, in the Nuoro region.

ET promises to revolutionize the way we explore the cosmos. Marica Branchesi (GSSI) and Michele Punturo (INFN) will explain how and why Europe is working to build this “ear” turned toward the universe. The meeting will be moderated by science journalist Gianluca Dotti.
